Eneco Tour Stage 4 Preview

Essen (B) - Vlijmen (NL), 169.6km

A strange finish to today's stage saw a group of four slip off the front inside the final two kilometers. Roelandts pushed hard at the front of the peloton, so hard in fact Greipel left the wheel go and Roelandts pulled out a gap, but was quickly joined by Boom, Richeze and Stybar..

They held their small lead all the way to the final few hundred metres, where Stybar bided his time before pouncing to take the stage from Richeze and Boom. Did Roelandts blow it for Greipel by not doing what he should have done in the leadout? Did Greipel not have the legs and let the wheel go in order to try to let Roelandts win? Who knows.

Anyway on to tomorrow's stage, but it is a limited report as I am getting ready to head to Ireland for the Wexford 2-day Stage race this weekend.. should be hard but should be fun!

It looks like being a sprint again tomorrow (I say again, as that what was expected today, but look what happened, another Renshaw type result!) and I am basically going to look at having the same bets again tomorrow. Lotto will not be allowed make the same mistake tomorrow I think and surely will get it right for Greipel. He is the shortest price he's been all week at 6/4 so clearly others agree. I will try to get a slightly bigger price by tomorrow though as 6/4 is quite short given the way the sprints have turned out so far..

Farrar could well get in the mix and again his price is quite large at 33/1 with William Hill. Demare is a much shorter 7/1 to win tomorrow, he was as big as 40/1 to win two days ago..

Boom is now the 2/1 favourite to win the overall given he made up a few bonus seconds today but I am happy with some 13/2 I took on Phinney, he could well be in the leaders jersey come Friday afternoon, when I might lay some back if his price shortens a lot.
